Site Services Engineer\n\nLocation: Luton\n Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time\n\nAbout the Role\n\nWe are working with a well-established engineering services provider with a strong UK presence and a blue-chip customer base across multiple industrial sectors. The business specialises in optimising asset performance, including motors, gearboxes, pumps, machining, induction, condition monitoring, and fabrication services.\n\nAs a Site Services Engineer, you will play a key role in the removal, installation, dismantling, rebuild, and refurbishment of plant and equipment within the Water and Industrial sectors. This includes working on pumps, gearboxes, motors, generators, and similar rotating equipment.\n\nYou will also be responsible for completing all onsite inspection and assembly documentation while ensuring compliance with company procedures, policies, and work instructions.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nFollow all company, site, and client health & safety procedures, promoting a strong safety culture at all times\nMaintain a clean, organised, and controlled working environment\nWork in line with agreed Method Statements and Work Instructions\nCarry out root cause analysis and fault finding on electro-mechanical equipment\nProduce detailed reports outlining findings, causes, and recommended corrective actions\nPerform on-site maintenance, repairs, and refurbishment where required\nDismantle and remove rotating and mechanical equipment for repair\nRebuild, repair, test, and commission equipment both in workshop and onsite\nReinstall equipment and carry out field testing and commissioning\nConduct planned service and maintenance visits\nRespond to breakdowns as required\nSupport workshop-based activities when neededKey Skills & Qualifications\n\nEssential\n\nMechanical apprenticeship (time-served) with ONC, HNC, NVQ or equivalent\nMinimum of 3 years' experience in a similar field-based role\nFlexible approach to working hours\nBasic understanding of health & safety practices in industrial environments\nFull UK driving licenceDesirable\n\nExperience within the water industry or process plants\nKnowledge of heavy industries (e.g.

steel, paper, power)\nConfined space certification\nATEX experience\nOverhead crane or lifting equipment licences\nForklift (counterbalance) licence\nLifting & slinging qualification\nWater hygiene certification\nRelevant site safety passports (e.g. CSCS, CCNSG, Thames Water Passport)\nMulti-skilled (electro-mechanical) capabilityTechnical Competencies\n\nStrong understanding of engineering principles\nAbility to interpret technical drawings and parts lists\nSolid mechanical repair and fault-finding skills\nHigh level of accuracy and attention to detail\nEffective communication skills (written and verbal)\nAbility to liaise with subcontractors and coordinate site services (e.g. cranes, scaffolding)\nStrong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines\nCapable of working independently or as part of a team\nWillingness to undertake further training and development
