The successful Qualified Electrician will work on a variety of projects, including EV charging infrastructure, renewable energy systems, and electrical installations, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer service.
\nRole Overview
\nYou will be responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of domestic electric vehicle charging equipment across the South West. The role will primarily focus on domestic EV charger installations, ensuring all work is completed safely, professionally and in accordance with BS7671, the IET Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation, Building Regulations, and company procedures. The successful candidate will also support the Senior Electrical Supervisor and wider engineering team with commercial EV charging infrastructure projects, Solar PV installations and battery storage systems as required. \nKey Responsibilities
\nInstall, test and commission domestic EV charging equipment
\nCarry out site surveys and pre-installation assessments
\nComplete electrical testing, inspection, and certification of completed installations
\nSubmit all required installation photographs, test results, certification, and job documentation in accordance with company procedures
\nEnsure all installations comply with BS7671, OZEV requirements and company standards
\nDiagnose and rectify faults on EV charging systems
\nCarry out general domestic electrical works as required, including consumer unit upgrades, EICRs, additional circuits, lighting installations, socket installations, fault finding, remedial works and minor electrical repairs
\nDeliver exceptional customer service and always represent our client professionally, providing excellent customer service
\nMaintain all company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good condition
\nSupport the Senior Electrical Supervisor with commercial EV charging installations
\nAssist with Solar PV and battery storage projects as required
\nParticipate in ongoing training and development programmes
\nFollow company health and safety procedures, RAMS, and Safety Culture reporting requirements
\nAttend team meetings, toolbox talks and company training events
\nEssential Qualifications & Experience
\nNVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent
\nAM2 qualification
\n18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
\nLevel 3 Inspection & Testing qualification (2391, 2394/2395 or equivalent)
\nEV Charging Installation qualification (City & Guilds 2921 or equivalent)
\nMinimum 2 years' experience installing EV charge points
\nExperience installing and commissioning domestic EV charge points
\nAbility to complete electrical certification independently
\nStrong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
\nFull DBS check
\nFull UK Driving Licence
\nExcellent communication and customer service skills
\nDesirable Qualifications & Experience
\nSolar PV installation experience
\nLCL Awards Level 3 Award in the Installation and Commissioning of EV Charging Equipment (mandatory qualification from October 2026)
\nBattery storage installation experience
\nExperience supporting commercial EV charging projects
\nOZEV grant experience
\nNAPIT registered electrician
\nECS Gold Card
\nExperience using ServiceM8 or similar job management software
\nExperience installing Ohme, Hypervolt, Hive, Andersen, Zappi, Indra, and Project EV chargers
